The VCS Assembly is the forum for voluntary community sector (VCS) Voice and Influence in Bristol.

Assembly meetings

The next VCS Assembly meeting will take place on Thursday 14 June 2012, 10am – 1pm

Following the May referendum result Bristol will get its first directly elected Mayor in November. This meeting will help the voluntary and community sector groups and organisations understand and get ready for changes that are coming up in Bristol later this year.

The meeting will include information and discussion on

The first elected mayor for Bristol

  • What will the elected mayor mean for VCS groups?
  • How will the elected mayor influence the way decisions are made for the city?
  • How can your organisation communicate with the elected mayor candidates?

Plus

Social value: It’s not just about ‘value for money’, but about the difference the sector makes to people and communities

  • Does the Bristol VCS understand what Social Value is?
  • How will the new Social Value Act help the VCS?
  • How can the VCS ensure the best definition of Social Value is used when the new law is implemented in Bristol?

And there will be an Open door slot giving you a chance to raise any issues you have.

The meeting will take place at Withywood Centre, Queens Road, Bristol BS13 8QA
